Cedar Branches
Cedar Branches Women’s Shelter (1081 Canada Ave.) is a safe place of community and security for women* experiencing homelessness.
It is a low-barrier, wet, 19+ shelter that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It currently has a 20-24 person capacity. It offers laundry services, shower facilities, meals, basic supports, and referrals to other services as needed.
To learn more about accessing services at Cedar Branches, you can call 250-466-9492 at any time, and staff will be happy to walk you through the intake procedure.

Somenos Transition House
Somenos Transition House provides short-term free and confidential shelter and 24/7 on-site support for women* and children displaced due to violence.
CWAVS staff can provide:
Emotional support, safety planning, referrals, and assistance applying for long-term housing
Private furnished rooms in a shared living space with 24/7 on-site support

Kw'i Lelum Second Stage
Kw’i Lelum Second Stage provides safe, subsidized housing with individualized, trauma-informed supports for women* and children displaced due to violence.
CWAVS staff can provide:
Emotional support, safety planning, referrals, and assistance applying for long-term housing
Groups & programming that aim to support women fleeing violence in gaining confidence, independence, and safety
Furnished suites with free laundry facilities
