Candlelight Vigil & Walk - Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

We warmly invite community members to with us for our annual December 6th Vigil and Walk, held in honour of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

This day holds deep meaning in our communities. It is a time to honour all those whose lives have been taken or impacted by gender-based violence, and to stand together in grief, remembrance, and collective commitment to safety and justice.

December 6th also marks the ongoing remembrance of the 14 young women murdered at Polytechnique Montréal, over three decades ago—women targeted by misogyny and hate. We say their names to honour their lives and to acknowledge the continued impacts of gender-based violence:

Geneviève Bergeron
Hélène Colgan
Nathalie Croteau
Barbara Daigneault
Anne-Marie Edward
Maud Haviernick
Maryse Laganière
Maryse Leclair
Anne-Marie Lemay
Sonia Pelletier
Michèle Richard
Annie St-Arneault
Annie Turcotte
Barbara Klucznik-Widajewicz

We welcome the community to gather with us as we will hold space in a way that centres compassion, cultural safety, and care for all who attend.

All community members are welcome.

Join us in honouring, remembering, and walking together toward a future free from gender-based violence.
