Ways to Help

Donate practical items:

We are collecting non-perishable food items to use for our breakfast and supper meals at our Women's Night Shelter - as of Feb. 12, 2020.

Items can be dropped off at 246 Evans St. Duncan.

Thank you to everyone who gave so generously over the last number of weeks.  Women now have warm clothing!

Ongoing: Umbrellas, underwear (new), socks, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors

Gift cards from Walmart, Superstore, Thriftys, SaveOn in amounts of $20 or $25. As well as Gas cards for women to get to appointments.

              - Please put the amount on the card so we don't have to check how much is is worth before giving out.

Somenos House, our emergency safe home, is in need of baby monitors, kids underwear and women's slippers size 7-9.

Pet Needs for our new pet friendly room

For many of us, our pets are family members, and a source of comfort, love, and connection.
Somenos Transition House, a program of Cowichan Women Against Violence Society, is excited that a new pet friendly bedroom will be available this spring, to provide safe shelter for women fleeing violence with their pets.

We are collecting pet food, pet supplies (leashes, beds, etc.) and financial donations for pet expenses such as shots, health care and grooming.

                                              DONATE USED PHONES

Please consider donating your used, retired cell phone to CWAV Society. Phones in good working order with chargers can be used, even if not on a payment plan, for emergency 911 calls and are often a critical safety tool for women fleeing domestic violence. Phones can be dropped off at CWAVS offices located at 246 Evans Street, Duncan.
